Aging happens to all of us. Time marches on, no matter how hard we try, we cannot stop it. It will catch up with us eventuality. This does not mean that you have to sit back and let it prematurely take away your vitality. There are things you can do starting right now to slow the aging process. You can maintain your youthful looks and vigor well into an age nobody will be able to guess! Sadly, there is not magic pill or fountain of youth, however these tips are extremely simple. They are:

Get A Good Nights Sleep

Getting 8-9 hours of sleep is generally recommended. Sleeping is one of life’s simple pleasures, but sometimes is does not come naturally to everyone. It has been reported that more than half of the USA’s adult population is chronically sleep deprived. Insomnia is a major health problem This means that they get less than the recommended 8-9 hours nightly, many days running. Sleep is important for the body to repair and restore itself. Adequate sleep is the reset button for your body. During sleep, repair ensues, so that proteins in skin are fixed, hormone production is ramped up, and the process of rebuilding in general. Sleep deprivation inhibits the ability of the body to fix structural defects, including in DNA, which can accelerate graying of hair, wrinkling of skin and deterioration of organs.


Enjoy A Colorful Plate

 Eat lots of vegetables. It doesn’t really matter which, but include a variety of different ones. Think of your  plate as a pallet and add lots of colors. Most vegetables are extremely low calories, making them for  maintain your ideal weight. You can eat a lot and not get a lot of calories, so you feel full. They are also high  in fiber adding bulk to your meals, which keep intestinal and colon health on point. Vegetables are loaded  with anti-oxidants, vitamin and minerals, which fend off free radicals and compounds that damage DNA and  promote aging.


Examine Your Hobbies

Watching TV late into the night is a bad hobby, it is damaging, and can interfere with sleep patterns. As discussed above sleep is in important time for the body to restore and repair. This being said there are other habits that are more damaging. Habits relate to drinking, smoking and eating junk food can accelerate aging. Excessive alcohol consumption can damage the liver which has the primary job of removing toxins from the body. If there is enough damage there is an accumulation of toxins in the body. This is bad for health, and kick starts accelerates the aging process. Smoking, has damaging effects on many parts of the body. It has negative effects on your lungs, to blood vessels, skin and more. Smoking can accelerate the aging process to the point that you age 25 years in just 5 years. Nutrient delivery suffers, so skin ages and wrinkles far sooner than it should, and you increase the risk of dying from complications of the lung and heart.

Be Happy

It may not be possible for you to be euphoric all day long, but being happy has proven benefits over being sad, or pouty. It has been said “Change your thoughts change your world”. Your thoughts effect the chemicals released into your body by various glands. Focusing on stressful thoughts will release hormone to prepare your body to respond to the stressful situation regardless if it is real or imagined. This can raise you blood pressure and heart rate causing damage and accelerated aging. Practicing mindfulness meditation is one of the best ways reduce stress hormone released in your body. It also helps to develop your appreciation of the little things in life. Meditation can improve your happiness and outlook not to mention the fact that frowning just speeds up development of wrinkles and fine lines!


A little walking, jogging, cycling or weight training is good during any point of life. In order to diminish the effects of aging, exercise is a Walking for improved healthmust. Weight training is an important part of an exercise routine. Not only does muscle help you fill out your clothing, but it can also help prevent skin from sagging, wrinkling, or your posture from stooping. They boost mood, reduce heart rate and blood pressure, and reduce stress levels as well. Exercise will increase the release of endorphins and improve your mood. So, don’t sulk, take a walk.
